Arrrrrooooooooo all you lovely people. We are excited that we have so many things going in our group. There’s something for everyone to enjoy and get involved in.
We will be having all our newsletters posted here so you never have to worry about losing the email. Eventually we’ll be phasing out manual emails of our newsletter to all our members. For the next few months, our members will be receiving a link to this site. We urge all that want a copy of our newsletter to go ahead and subscribe by email, rss, by google reader , or what ever method you prefer.
All of us want to hear what projects you are working on or if you have any news you want to share with the group, so please send it to thefangreaders@gmail

We are a very welcoming bunch and would love to learn more about you, what fanfics you like, or whatever else you’d like to chat about.
For the past year we have evolved so much due to the ideas and participation of our members. The Fangreaders Community is a place for all to be able to enjoy the fandom. Feel free to join in as much as you like or just see what is going on. We are happy to hear any ideas or suggestions you may have for projects for the group to enjoy. Calling all members who write original works!
The chatroom will be having a series of chats about the original works from our members. There will be advice for self publishing, meeting our authors that have published works, and much much more. Our authors who have published or are posting original works are asked to contact Sephrenia at fangreaderslibrary@gmail.com so that you can have your links and information added to the Fangreaders Library .
One of the best ways for authors to get their works known is by having book bloggers review their works. To kick off our series “ Flying the Nest”, we are happy to welcome Jena, book reviewer and blogger, from Puretexuality as our guest in the Chatroom this Saturday the 10th of March at 8pm GMT (3pm EST).

The Fangreaders Awards
The Fangreaders were very proud to present our Fangreaders Awards for Excellence in SVM/ TB Fanfiction on the 25th of February 2012 on the Fangreaders Hall of Fame site.
We would like to thank all those in the fandom that participated in this celebration of SVM and TB fanfics by voting on the Fangies and were pleasantly surprised to have received 895 voting ballots. This was a group effort to highlight quality writing from the fanfic authors in both the Southern Vampire Mysteries and the True Blood fandoms.

Chatroom News
We are all very sad to see Blakes “Queen of Fun & Games” Boogie step down as Chathost. We wish her well with all her endeavours and hope she’ll still pop in and see us in the chatroom.
We are so very pleased that long time member Merick has decided to host her very own chat, “Talk Supe” starting Tuesday 6th of March at 9pm EST. We have all had fun with her amazing tarot reading and look forward to all the creative chats ahead. All of us wish you well with your new chat and hope everyone will drop in and check it out.
There are a few changes to the weekly schedule of chats. Starting next week the “Immortal Beloved” chat will be at 9pm GMT (4pm EST) and “Lady Hlins’s Basement” will be on Wednesdays at 9pm GMT (4pm EST).

The Fangreaders Forum called Josephine’s Club Dead has just opened recently as an extension of the Fangreaders Community. PoeticJacqueline is the administrator who has plenty of experience with running many forums. As a fanfic author and avid RolePlayer, she wants to make sure everyone’s experience with the forum is fun for everyone. With so many members around the world that are unable to attend our chats, Josephine’s gives them the chance to have their comments heard on any of our chat topics. Give your opinions on many subjects: our fandom, fanfics, or characters. Hang out in our Fangreaders Lounge or even try your hand at being one of your fave characters in the Role-Playing section.

Please be sure to welcome Sephrenia as our Fangreaders Librarian in charge of our site the Fangreaders Library. This site is open for ALL members to post their works or recommendations of SVM/TB Fanfics, books, or stories. Now taking fanfic reviews of your recommendations.
We are asking all members that also write original works to please let us know where we may find your publications or links to the sites you post your works as we plan on posting those in our Library as well.

Our Fang Statement
The Fangreaders Community is a group of adult fans of SVM and TB fanfics. It is made up of writers and readers from all over the world. Here, our members can do as much or as little as they like to express their love for our fandom and have fun. Members are free to enjoy the freedom to express themselves in hosting chats, attending chats, recommending projects for the group, suggesting ideas, and much more. We have had members expand the Fangreaders umbrella as seen by our LiveJournal site, Fangreaders library, Hall of Fame, and our forum. Every project under Fangreaders gets the group support with banners on our blogs, mentions on the welcome letter to each new member, Tweets, Facebook postings, advertising from other members and anything else we can use to show our support for each member.
All ideas are welcomed and aided where possible. Our Administration Team are all clearly posted on all our sites and are always available for questions, comments and suggestions. Are there things that some members may not like? Yes, of course there are. We try to make sure that all projects are palpable to a majority of our members. We have been running for over a year and trying to be fair to everyone is not easy but we all continue to try and improve to be an inclusive place for all adult SVM and TB fans.
If a member leaves our group, what do we do with their projects? All members are free to take any project that they did on their own. If the project is shared, all those involved should get together and decide what to do with it. If nothing is said on a particular project from a former member, we feel it fair to take down their projects from our sites so that it will not be perceived as exploitation of their work unless it is discussed otherwise.
In addition, our group helps support contests held by any of our members. We help advertise and make available any of our services to the group of members that are hosting a contest.
Only our third time to have a designated group project, the Fangreaders Awards have been the culmination of months of preparations and a year in the works. Open to any member that wanted to help, we had a panel of 13 volunteers. Many measures were discussed to maintain fairness throughout the whole nomination and voting processes of both the Fangie Ballot and the Panelist’s Choice Award. Decisions were carried if made by a majority of panelists.
Does any one story or any one author represent the Fangreaders community as a whole? No, is the simple answer to that; we are too diverse. Diversity being at the core of our group, we have to learn to tolerate the things we may not like. The Fangreaders do not do anything with malicious intent. We don't infringe upon liberties of others. We respect other's opinions, and we expect the same in return.Our group offers a place for its members to express opinions and be an outlet for creativity in our shared passion for the fandom.
