Fangreaders News: April 2012 Newsletter

Spring is in the air and the sun is shining bright.

We are all coming out of the sleep of winter and ready to play.

Community News

The Fangreaders are always up for something that anyone can participate. Musingsbychar has come up with a fandom wide event. Inspired by the Odessey2012 on Deviantart , anyone can join in at anytime.

The Chronicles of an Adventure

Launched this week , Chronicles of an Adventure is a collaborative event for writers and anyone that would like to express themselves creatively. Though based on the SVM fandom, all fandoms are welcome to join in.

In a nutshell: A story will be started with a premise (a prompt). All writers are asked to write a chapter based on that premise and create their own supernatural character. All those that submit a chapter will have them all posted and voted on. The winning chapter will be the premise (the prompt) for the next chapter and so on until the end of the story. All creative expressions (banners, pictures, videos, etc) will be welcome too and posted on the site to go with the chapters. Once the last chapter is finished, there will be a vote for the title of that particular story.

Chapter 1 is due this Sunday April 1, 2012 by 12midnight CST (5am April 2nd GMT)

(Chapter is to be in between 700 words but no more than 1000)

The Fangreaders Sheriff’s Star

We would like to thank all those in our fandom that help spread the word about the Fangreaders. In order to show our gratitude for helping to promote us, we are issuing The Fangreaders Sheriff’s Star and listing you on our blogs. Promoting (or pimping) includes; mentioning our group in author notes, telling readers about us on your blog, sharing our Facebook postings on your wall, and reblogging our Tumblr announcements.

To claim your Sheriff’s Star, please email us at thefangreaders@gmail.com with the link showing that you helped to promote the fangreaders in 2012.

Your Sheriff’s Star will be personalised with your name (pen name) and the month and year you promoted us. For every additional time you help to promote the Fangreaders, you will earn a new star with a different pic of our Sheriff. Gain 5 stars and you will earn your place in the Sheriff’s Entourage. Not only will you be listed under the Sheriff’s Entourage on all of our sites, you will receive a personalised banner for your story or blog. In addition you will receive a special Sheriff’s Entourage Badge that you can add to your site.

Leave your prompt/character/character pairing suggestions in the comment section.

Rules:
1. Your drabble should be 100 words. No more, no less.
2. No original characters.
3. Your drabble must be self-contained. It must have a beginning, middle and an end nor it cannot be part of a larger story.
4. Drabbles can be written any time during the current round of prompts. When the time period is up no more postings on those prompts will be accepted. If you really like a prompt and can’t post your drabble in the time period allotted, feel free to suggest that prompt again, just know that it may or may not be used on the next prompt list.
5. Drabbles must be posted in the comments section below. This means you must have a Live Journal account and be a member of the fangreaders community.
